Melbourne to Nelson shipping?
PA Nelson A Nelson-Melbourne shipping service is being considered by the Union Steam Ship Company, Ltd, according to the Nelson Harbour Board’s general manager, Mr J/ F. Baldwin. The trip would only be made when cargo was sufficient, he told a board meeting. The board's chairman, Mr C. Gibbons, said that there was an "unlimited demand" for timber in Australia at present, creating big demand for cargo space.
