Helicopter pads on buildings?
A Christchurch City coun* cillor thinks that city highrise buildings with levels that fire ladders cannot reach should have facilities for helicopter landings or winching rescues. .! =, Cr M. F. Fahey told the council’s health and general committee yesterday that ladders could reach only the ninth floor of buildings. Council officers said he had a point. It was something they would consider, and the New Zealand Standards Association might also consider it.
