P.D.L sells 40 p.c. stake
An English company, George H. Scholes, Ltd, has bought 40 per cent of the shares held by P.D.L. Holdings, Ltd, in its Malaysian subsidiary.
The Manchester-based company is the leading English manufacturer of electrical circuit breakers and protective devices under the “Wylex” brand. The Malaysian company will change its name to PDLWylex Sdn Bhd and will manufacture a wider range of products for the SouthEast Asian and Middle East markets. Work has already begun on a 75 per cent extension to the Kuala Lumpur plant, which last year had sales of SI.BM and faces its strongest competition in the area from other British companies.
Eventually Wylex products will be manufactured in New Zealand for the domestic and Australian markets in conjunction with P.D.L.’s Australian partner, Gerard Industries Pty, Ltd, of Adelaide.
