John Walker in doubt
PA Auckland Unless John Walker can step up his training and put 100 per cent effort into it, he remains a doubtful starter for the Pacific Conference Games in January. “I am not running well at all,” said Walker yesterday. “Since I have been back I have been so busy I have not had time to train properly, and unless I can find the time to put in hte effort I want then I can’t see myself in Christchurch.
“I came back from Europe and the United States with the best of intentions, but I have had so many things to do it has been impossible to get out training anywhere near as much as I should have,” Walker said. It is to be hoped that Walker can overcome his busy schedule and find the time to train as his pending clash with the Briton, Steve Ovett, has long been billed as the highlight of the track and field season.
