Appointment
PA Wellington Mr J. B. Craik, of Mosgiel, has been appointed to the panel of New Zealand Racing Conference stipendiary stewards.
He will be stationed in Christchurch and will take up duties later this month, according to a statement made last evening by the conference.
Mr Craik has been an assistant stipendiary steward in the Otago/Southland districts for the last seven years.
As resident stipendiary steward for the Canterbury/West Coast districts, Mr Craik will replace Mr L. J. Muirhead, who is to transfer to Auckland on the retirement of Mr A. E. Bird.
