$458,000 spent on rolls
PA Wellington The Registrar-General’s Division and Chief Electoral Office spent $458,100 preparing electoral rolls in the year ended March 31, according to the Justice Department’s annual report. The report, tabled in Parliament, said from 1978 to the end of the March year 92,927 additions, 117,095 corrections, and 360,870 deletions had been made to the rolls. The cost of preparation did not include staff salaries, which were a further $547,100. Both the Justice Department and the Post Office were working “towards the common objective of restoring public confidence in the state of our electoral rolls," the report said. . ■<!
