M.P. queries age bar
PA Wellington Age is a beautiful thing, the Labour member of Parliament for Nelson (Mr M. F. Courtney), has told Parliament. He was questioning why directors aged more than 68 could be elected or appointed to the Dairy Board for a term of only one year, when directors aged less than 68 could be elected or appointed for four years. “What’s so special about 68? I think age is only a state of mind,” Mr Court-< ney said. The new age provisions are contained in the Dairy Board Amendment Bill, which has been introduced to Parliament by the Gov« emment.
