Southdown meetings
PA Auckland The combined unions at the Southdown meat works will meet this morning to consider future action. Union representatives and the management of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Co-operative met yesterday,
but the meeting ended in a stalemate, the union pressing for the plant to be kept open and the company saying it was impossible. Future moves rest on the union meeting and a meeting of the executive of the Auckland Freezing Workers’ Union tomorrow. ’■
