TV strike on today
The rolling strike by production staff Of Television New Zealand will go ahead as planned from today. The first programme to be affected will be “The Mainland Touch,” normally screened at 7.30 p.m. . The Christchurch . manager of TVNZ, Mr I. Richards, said last evening that two recordings from the James Hay Theatre in Christchurch of “That’s
Country” would also be cancelled* because of the strike. Mr Richards said that he had had not yet been advised of the substitute programrite for “The Mainland Touch.” Production ' staff, who are members of the Public Service Association, are taking action over pay relativity claims. More than 60 programmes scheduled for production or screening this week will be affected by the dispute.
