Sugar price leap
Sugar prices rose to their highest for three months in London yesterday because of . recent heavy buying by the Soviet Union and other con- ■ sumers. Market values were about $75 a tonne higher than a week ago. ■ Dealers said the upsurge reflected recent heavy buying from big consumers such as the Soviet Union, which is reported to have taken between one million and 1.65 million tonnes from world markets following a shortfall of its own crop. — London.
