Badminton titles
PA Hamilton Under-17 players continued to make their presence felt at the Yonex national under--19 badminton championship at Hamilton last evening. Wellington’s top seed, Mark Barry,. was beaten in the quarter-finals ■ of the boys singles by the national under-17 singles champion, Kerfin' Harrison, of North Shore. Harrison won the match 11-15, 15-11, 17-14 to follow the national under-17 girls’ champion, Colleen Hellyer’s first round win ; over the girls’ No. 2 seed, Linda Persson (Auckland) yesterday. All three other top seeds made the semi-finals in the boys’ singles, but only the No. 1 seed and Australian junior titleholder, Katrin
Blair (North Shore), made if from the top four ranking in the girls’ singles. Results:— Quarter-finals Under-19 boys’ singles: K. Harrison (North Shore) beat M.
