Robber punches woman

A woman dairy proprietor was attacked by a youth after he had stolen $2 from her till last evening. The police said the youth had walked into the shop, at the corner of Worcester Street and Linwood Avenue, just after 8 p.m., and had reached over the counter and grabbed the money from the till. When the woman owner came' from the rear of the shop and surprised him, she was punched several times about the face and head. The woman was bruised and shaken, but did not need hospital treatment. Her attacker ran from the shop, and managed to elude a police search of the area. He is described as a male European, aged between 16 and 18, about 165 cm (sft sin), of average build, with straight, fair, collar-length hair. He was wearing a vellowish-coloured woollen bush shirt.
