Eight hundred LSD tablets had been found in s man’s car when it wat stopped soon after a drug deal had been made with an undercover constable, according to evidence in the District Court yesterday. David Andrew Fraser, aged 24, a sickness beneficiary (Mr S. C. Barker), elected trial by jury on charges of possessing the LSD tablets, and allowing his vehicle to be used ' for trafficking in drugs bn July 16. He denied the charges. Messrs V. C. Clarke and V. C. Empson, Justices of the Peace, held there was. a sufficient case to answer and committed the defendant for trial on both charges. Sergeant J. J. Chaddertbn prosecuted. Prosecution evidence was given of a drug transaction
taking place after the lefendant had driven to a lotel with Mark Brian iohn Cassin. The defendant’s car was stopped by detectives soon afterwards and 800 LSD tablets were found. The- defendant had claimed that all he got from the deal
was $lOO for picking up Cassin. Mr Barker submitted that although, according to his second statement to the police, the defendant knew the drugs were in his car, he did not have any control or dominion over them.
