A Dunedin neurosurgeon has declined an offer by the North Canterbury Hospital Board to set up a regional neurosurgical service at Christchurch Hospital. Mr A/ S: Bishara, one of two- neurosurgeons employed by the Otago Hospital Board in Dunedin, notified the North Canterbury board on Thursday that he was unable to accept the post. The board Advertised widely overseas for a neurosurgeon but received only two replies. “It is important that we make an early appointment to the position/' said the chief executive of the North Canterbury board (Mr R. I. Parker).
