PA Wellington A report on the controversial Health Department computer, due in two months, will not necessarily suggest retaining all aspects of the present system, said the' • man leading the investigation, Mr W. Whittet, yesterday. He told a news media seminar that he and his team were looking for the best cost-efficient system available. Mr Whittet said he might i
not necessarily support the retention of the mainframe national system at present proposed.He tojd the seminar that his job was to take a fresh look at the whole situation and to do this “we must ignore what we have got.” Mr Whittet told the seminar that about $5 million worth of equipment was -already in use. Should the system be changed this equipment would not be scrapped, he said. There was always a use for it.
