Selector N.Z. man
NZPA Melbourne Mr Don Croot. a former New Zealand rowing selector, and now the president of the Balmain Rowing Club in Sydney, has been appointed manager of the Australian! team for next year’s world championships at Munich. Mr Croot managed ■ New Zealand’s successful rowing eight at the Canadian international regatta in 1967 and
was assistant manager of the over-all New Zealand Mexico Olympic team in 1968.
In both 1967 and 1968 (when the coxed four picked up an Olympic gold medal) the New Zealand crews were coached by Rust.v Robertson, who guided Australia’s lightweight coxless four to victory at the world championships in Belgium two weeks ago. •
