representative sample of all fishermen, boat owners, and fish process workers from all fishing centres in the South Island. Interviews will be anonymous and confidential. They include questions on topics such as safety measures taken, and the effect of a fisherman’s job on his- social life.
The survey is designed to provide evidence for later recommendations. But the department has said any implementation of its recommendations, will be voluntary.
