Bradwin impresses at Forbury trials
Special correspondent Dunedm Bradwin, an entrant for three-year-old races at the Forbury Park meeting next week, impressively won the main-heat at trials at Forbumain heat at trials at Forbury. Our One gained a dashing win in the heat for trotters. Bradwin trailed in fourth place to the 1000 m then followed Ambro Star, which improved on the outer. Armbro Star headed the pacemaker, Kama Dancer, at tiie 700 m and was clear entering the straight but Bradwin finished fast to beat him by a neck. Bradwin, a winner at Oamaru and Winton as a two-year-old last season for his Dunedin owner-trainer Mr Ivan Court, looks well and he should make an immediate impression in his racing. A big colt, he gave the impression that he would, be even better with time. • Armbro Star, which was soon handy after starting
from 20m yesterday, finished three lengths clear of the ■ third place-getter, Petite-Mi-randa. which trailed Kama : Dancer. . „ . Bradwin clocked 2mm 58.2 s for the 2200 m. Lady Lass returned 2min 57.1 s when she held on well to win the heat for CO pacers. Our One easily won the heat for trotters. She was quickly into stride from 40m and she went to the front at the 900 m. Everton Adios ran on for second, four and a half lengths back, with five lengths to the pacemaker, Pridevale, now trained by his owner, Mr Viv Anngow. Puketapu, a nine-year-old making his first appearance at trials, qualified as a trotter. He returned 3min 20.1 s in a solo run which was 5.9 s inside the required time, A gelding by James Direct from Beauty Way, a mare by Stormyway, Puketapu is prepared by Ali Malcohnson for the Four And One syndicate.
