National players out of inter-island game
Two New Zealand representatives have been omitted from the inter-island teams which will meet today at the national' netball championships at the Hagley Park courts. Maxine Munro, formerly Blomquist, has been dropped from the South Island side, while Millie Munro, the Wellington goal-keeper, has been left out of the North Island team. The entire Canterbury team has been included in the southern side and, interestingly, Margaret Kamana of Wellington and Te Aroha Clarke from Auckland, both specialist goal-shooters, have won inclusion. Lyn Parker, the New Zealand captain, is in the North Island side, but not
as captain. Four other present national representatives have been named — Janice Henderson and Leigh Mills of Canterbury, Kamana and Yvonne WilN ering of Auckland. The teams are:North Island: Ruth Aitken, Denise Felix (North Shore), Margaret Pattillo, Yvonne Willering (captain), Sharon Wilson, Te Aroha Clarke (Auckland), Tracy Fear (King Country), Margaret Kamana (Wellington), Jill Meroiti (Rotorua), Lyn Parker (Waikato). South Island: Ann Davidson, Sandy Heffernan, Janice Henderson, Lyn McLennan, Adrianne Prattley (captain), Leigh Mills, Wai Taumaunu (Canterbury), Shelley McMeekin, Vicki Nalder, Lyn Proudlove (Otago).
