The department is active in head and neck surgery and microsurgery; including eighth nerve surgery and transphenoidal pituitary surgery. Whole time salary will be payable within either: The Specialist Automatic Scale, viz $26,4/4 to $34,081 (8 steps), or Specialists Additional Steps, viz $36,247/$38,235/$40,221/$44,857. The successful applicant would be considred for a University teaching appointment in addition to his Hospital appointment. This appointment would be to the Medical School of the University of Otago, and carry University status, with a supplementary salary increment.
