General forecast: As the rdige of high pressure moves north-east, mainly fine weather is expected over much of the South Island. However, a disturbed westerly airstream over the south Tasman Sea will spread on to the far south. District forecasts:

Marlborough: Early cloud and scattered showers, fine later; south-easterlies dying out; cold. Nelson: High cloud at first, otherwise fine; light winds; cool. Buller, Westland: High cloud at first, otherwise mainly fine; light winds; cool. Outlook: Cloudy on the West Coast, mainly fine elsewhere.
