Airport deal
The Soviet Union and the Afghan Government have agreed to expand Kabul Airport Announcing the accord, Radio Kabul said the protocol, worth $5 million, would enable the airport “to handle every kind of small and big planes under various conditions.” The radio also reported that Afghan youth organisation volunteers have proposed joining military units for training to fight “the mercenaries of foreign powers.” —New Delhi.
