Glacier landings
Greymouth reporter A helicopter concession to land passengers on Luncheon Rock, Ikm from the present Franz Josef Glacier face, has been approved by the Westland National Park Board. This will allow people to land and walk on the glacier. The chairman of the board (Mr C. S. Christie)
said that no decision had been made on which operaijr would be granted the concession, which' would be subject to negotiations between the board, Mount Cook Airlines, and Glacier Helicopters. • He expected that the board would make a final decision at a special meeting on September 8.
