Performances of Ministers
Sir, — This Government will have been unique in this country’s history for the number of Cabinet Ministers who appear to have worked for the destruction of the affairs of their ministries. The Minister of Lands and of the Environment is destroying indigenous forests and the habitat of native wildlife. The Postmaster-General and Minister of
Maori Affairs is undermining the profitability and morale of the Post Office by encouraging private couriers and refusing it the right to run the same services. Recently he opposed a bill to encourage the learning of the Maori language. The record of the. Minister of Railways as to services and morale is so abysmal that the less said the better. The Prime Minister must be hoping that more vacancies will occur in our key embassies. — Yours, etc., (Archdeacon) S. E. WOODS. August 12, 1980.
