The planning Tribunal is expected to hear appeals against the granting of water rights for the Clutha power scheme about the middle of next month.
The Minister of Energy (Mr Birch) answering a written - . question on the Parliamentary Order Paper from Mr S. J. Rodger
(Lab, Dunedin North) said he had sought the help of the Attorney-General (Mr McLay) in securing a tribunal hearing. Mr McLay had subsequently asked the tribunal to set a date. “I believe the tribunal has provisionally reserved a period beginning the middle of September to hear the appeals,” Mr Birch said.
