Refuse hearing ends
A planning hearing on the," proposed Styx Mill Road; rubbish transfer station fin-; ished on a quiet note lastj evening. Two objectors to the scheme told the Waimairi County Council planning hearing sub-committee that they believed a rubbish transfer station in the area would cause increased traffic through residential areas. The sub-committee is Cr I. Calvert (chairman), Cr H. M.
Tait, and Cr E. L. Bonisch. I The same committee heard ithe previous requirement by the Metropolitan Refuse Disposal Committee and ruled it to be null and void last February. The sub-committee made rapid progress again yesterday as more of the evidence presented at the first hearing was taken as .read. The hearing finished two days ahead of schedule. A decision is expected before the end of September.
