MISS GHANA (Race 7), hr m, 5 yrs. by Berry HanoverLeamington, trained at Clevedon by R. and B. Purdon. Close second to Hockenheim when making fresh start at the Franklin meeting last Friday night. Looks sure to be improved by that run and should take beating tonight. N.Z. Metro. ROYDON ALBATROSS (Race 8), b h, 4 yrs, by AlbatrossPoppy Butler; trained at Templeton by W. F. Fletcher. Unbeaten in his last three of four starts. Drawn awkwardly, but should be too good for this field. Waikato MERMAN (Race 7), br h, 7 yrs, by Masthead ll—Ocean Belle; trained at Te Awamutu by G. B. Taylor. Looks set to add further to handsome stakes tally. Gallant second under top weight to Tamaryn at Ellerslie on Wednesday. Taranaki MASTER TED (Race 3), b g. 5 yrs, by Allgrit—Rejoicing; trained at Hawera by R. Nolan. Checked in straight but still made a promising debut by finishing fourth at Levin last week. Should break through for a win if he has better luck in the running this time.
