Piparyl works well at Wingatui

Piparyl and Senator, which are engaged at Oamaru on Monday, returned a smart gallop at Wingatui yesterday morning.
They ran 1000 m on a heavy sand in Imin 4.75, the last 800 m in 51.75, and the 600 m in 39.65. Piparyl was running on for eighth over 2000 m at'Riccarton last Saturday.
Senator is back with his owners, Murray and May Jopson. Meadow Miss led Zachariah by a length and a half ending 800 m in 52.55. . Mellseur sprinted from the 600 m in 39.95. She is to be given a run at the point-to-point meeting at Wyndham tomorrow week as a prelude to the South Island Thoroughbred Stakes on September 22.
Princess Leanne, Bay River, Uncle Percy and Tiger Hill have come back in work with Hector Anderton, jun.
Princess Leanne looked promising last season when she had a win and four placings in eight starts. She was put aside after she cut a blood vessel and bruised a joint at Cromwell in March.
Bay River, now a 10-vear-old, has had a leg problem and he has not raced since April last year.
