Chatham Cup semi-final
Both semi-finals* of the Adidas Chatham Cup soccer contest will be played on Sunday, August 24. • The Canterbury i' Football Association rceeived notification yesterday that its application to play the Trans Tours United-Mount Wellington semi-final on the Sunday had been approved by the New Zealand Football Association.
The second semi-final between Takapuna City and Dunedin City was scheduled for the same day to allow
for Dunedin City’s travel arrangements. The Christchurch semifinal' was to have been played on the Saturday, which would have resulted in a considerably smaller gate. But playing, the matches on the Sunday might not meet with the players* approval. If either match fails to produce a result, the N.Z.F.A.- rules state that the replay must be played in the same city on the following Monday —in this case, the following day.
