Cook to fill slot
NZPA London The comedy actor, Peter Cook, is taking over as star of the Barclay’s Bank Television advertising campaign which was taken off the air when Peter Sellers died three weeks ago. The bank scrapped the Sellers commercials as a mark of respect to the late actor and spent 10 days seeking a replacement, the “Daily Mail” has reported. Peter Cook, aged 42, has begun filming a new set of the advertisements in Oxford and is believed to be receiving a $45,000 fee. Sellers was paid $200,000 for making two commercials in which he played a con-man Called Monty Casino.
