'Lou Grant’ Emmy pick
NZPA Los Angeles “The Lou Grant Show” dominates the Emmy Award nominations for the second successive year as the threat of an actors” boycott clouded next month’s thirty second annual awards ceremony. The series about a Los Angeles newsroom headed by Edward Asner collected 15 nominations. “Moviola,” a three-part movie series about the early days of the motionpicture industry, collected 13 nominations, and “M.A.S.H.” had 11.
Other shows receiving multiple nominations in-, eluded “All Quiet on the Western Front,” with seven; “Amber Waves,” with six; “The Big Show,” with six; “Baryshnikov on Broadway,” with six; “The Muppet Show,” with eight; and two cancelled series — “The Rockford Files,” with six, and “Skag,” with seven.
