Computer bills for power
A new computerised billing machine to be bought by the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board would be able to show if a consumer’s account was higher than usual, said the chairman cf the board, Mr P. Manion, at a meeting of the board this week.' ’ ' , This would enable the board to tell the consumer that the account was above average and to offer advice on reducing power use.
The board will send a circular to its consumers giving a summary of its activities, how consumers’ money is spent, and a list of the board’s assets, aims, members, representatives, and consumer services.
A separate circular has been prepared for consumers at Arthur’s Pass where the board assumed control of the power supply last month. The circular says that the board hopes to extend its high-voltage service to Arthur’s Pass village by Christmas.
