Illegal crays found in shower cubicle

A , Kaikoura pensioner caught with a case of undersized crayfish in his shower was fined $330 when he appeared in, the District Court at Kaikoura.

Hedley Leonard Clarke, retired, admitted two charges of possessing 130 undersized spiny crayfish and three female rock lobsters carrying external eggs. Judge Graham convicted and fined him $lOO on each charge and an extra $1 for each under-sjzed crayfish. A fisheries inspector had searched a house at South Bay and found . the, case of under-sized crayfish in a shower cubicle and the three lobster in the refrigerator.
