Rush for waterfall ‘miracle’
PA Hamilton ; People hoping for miracle I cures for ailments ranging I from blindness to arthritis are flocking to an icy waterfall in the King Country. So far no miracle has been authenticated. But there have been unauthenticated reports of a blind man who claimed to have had his sight restored, and another who said his stiff arm had been healed by the curative powers of the water at what has already become known as the “Madonna” falls. The name comes from a rock formation behind the falls,.said to be shaped like a small Madonna. i This week, on a cold Mon- : day, people stripped to their underwear and stood under the chilling cascade. Some filled bottles of water to 1 take to their homes. I One reporter saw more than a dozen men and | women braving the water in i the space of 30 minutes.
