Antique records?
PA Wellington Buyers set New Zealand records for several types, of antique furniture at an auction in Wellington. Bidding for a rare Jacobean oak chest of drawers, dated about 1650, reached §4OOO on the first night of the Dunbar Sloane spring auction. An eighteenthcentury mahogany chest-on-chest realised $4700. An auctioneer said the prices were “phenomenal” for New Zealand and were both a record for this .type of
