Lost records

Sir, — My sister is a third-year medical student at Otago University. At the beginning of the year she applied for a hardship allowance. At the end of the second term she has been told that her application has been lost, would she please reapply. She has been paying current interest rates on bridging finance. I have had a graduation application turned down because Lincoln College has lost the records of one report. With computer technology it is understandable that records are lost. Imagine the State servant typing application forms into a computer. A backlog of 2000 and they come to a name like “Robilliard.” Maybe we should all become Smiths. — Yours, etc., T. de G. ROBILLIARD. August 8, 1980.
