Export centre proposal

The establishment of an export centre; in Christchurch is one of a number of proposals .by the . Canterbury Manufacturers? Association to increase its ■ export activities.

An outline of ! the association’s proposals, through its company, Mancan Foundation, Ltd, is contained in the association’s centennial book “A Century of Achievement;” which will be published later this week. ’ ’ v

A Specially bound copy of the book was presented to the Deputy Minister of Finance (Mr Templeton) when he addressed the association’s annual meeting last Friday evening. The publication says that since the mid 1960 s the association has concentrated on manufactured exports and has been involved in the arrangement of eight trade missions

,As part of its fixport promotion drive, the association has set up an award for’ export salesmen.. The award I will be a trophy, presented each''year ! to the most successful export salesman. Mancan has . commissioned the designer, of the New Zealand manufacturing kiwi symbol, Mr Cees Leffelaar,' to submit a design. Mancan is also making - a second grant towards sponsoring a promotion for New Zealand manufacturers in a United States city about the size of Auckland.
