Shunter killed
PA Wellington A shunter was killed when a container waggon ran over him after he had aparentiy slipped while jumping off it in the Wellington railway yards yesterday. He was JOHN CHAPMAN, aged 20. Workmates said that Mr Chapman had been standing on the moving waggon
and had appeared to slip as he had prepared to jump off. They said he had been an experienced shunter who had recently rejoined the Railways after a break. He had been a keen rugby league and softball player. - The accident happened about 4JO pjn. near the Cook Strait ferry terminal ramp to the Hutt motor way.
