Fisherman’s body found
The body of a young Ashburton fisherman was found in Lake Ellesmere yesterday, not far from where he disappeared while lifting nets on July 15. He was Riki David Rodgers, aged 18, who had been helping a commercial fisherman at Lakeside.' Mr Rodgers had failed to return from checking nets off Fishermans Point on the morning of July 15. The lake became rough later that day, and on July 16 Mr Rodgers’s runabout was found in about four metres of water. His body was found by local fishermen.
