Two N.I. tremors

PA Wellington Two short earthquakes were felt in the North Island at the week-end.

The first, at 7.32 p.m. on Saturday near Napier, measured 4 to 4.5 on the Richter scale, according to the Seismological Observatory of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. The second, at 4.29 a.m. yesterday, was centred about 50km north-west of Wellington and measured 4 on the Richter scale.

A spokesman for the Seismological Observatory said no damage had been reported in either tremor.
