Coast beat Buller
PA Hokitika West Coast overran Buller 32-9 in a South Island second division rugby match played in firm conditions at Hokitika on Saturday. The West Coasters, fresh from their recent Seddon Shield success over Marlborough, dominated all phases of play with locks Graeme McGurk and Graeme Crawford winning lineout ball with ease and loose forwards Winston Monk, Allan Bruhn and Russell Johns showing speed to the loose ball. Scorers:
West Coast: John Wallace (2), Ken Thompson, Gavin Cook tries. Tony Kissock two dropped goals, two penalties, two conversions; Buller: Rex Munn three penalties. The West Coast led 21-3 at halftime. The Seddon Shield was not at stake.
