On Saturday, the Canterbury captain and No. 2. John Williamson played steady par golf against Donaldson, who won 1 up. Yesterday, when the icy conditions made scoring more difficult, Donaldson accounted for the Canterbury No: 1. Mark Street, at the seventeenth. Street had beaten Ron Hazeldine at the twelfth on the first day. Donaldson clinched the match with a birdie at the seventeenth.
The Canterbury No. 3, Murray Brown, won both his matches at the fifteenth. His superb chipping yesterday gave him the advantage over Terry Baxendale. lan Ross, the reserve for last year’s Canterbury Freyberg team, putted soundly both days. He was helped in his second match by loose play frdm George Allan.
