Canty starts well
The Canterbury under 15 soccer team has made a successful start to its North American tour. After its first match in San Francisco had been washed out, Canterbury beat a Seattle side, 3-1. Although lacking the size of the
Seattle team, Canterbury showed more skill. Simon Ireland scored the first goal with a 20-metre drive, Robert Stanton added the second, and Michael Mulcahy scored the third after a fine cross from Paul Hawthorne.
