Windmill power test
PA Wellington A windmill to generate electricity was being considered for Stewart Island, said the Minister of Works (Mr W. L. Young) in Parliament. Wind-measuring equipment had been installed and tests would be made, he said. Mr Young was replying to Mr W. R. Austin (Nat., Awarua) who had asked if a windmill would be offered to Stewart Island, as one was planned for the Chatham Islands which also relied on oil for electricity generation.
