Olympian comment
NZPA London A group of New Zealand tourists who attended the Olympic Games at Moscow ‘have written to the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) and the Minister of Sport (Mr Highet) protesting against Government interference in sport. The leader of the tour? group, Mr Bryan Wilson, a former national athletics and Hawke’s Bay rugby coach, has told the Press Association that postcards had been sent to both Ministers from Moscow.
The card sent to Mr Middoon said: ‘‘From New Zealanders Who uphold’ the ideals of sport above politics.” The card to Mr Highet was similar.
