Priests ‘not spies’
Archbishop Hilarion Capucci, Apostolic Delegate of the European Melchites, has said that the Iranian President (Mr Abolhassan BaniSadr) has agreed that accusations against priests from the .Andisheh Catholic School'of spying for Israel were groundless. “Mr BaniSadr is convinced, as I am, that the campaign against these priests is without foundation, for not a single document has been produced against them,” Archbishop Capucci said. Mr Bani-Sadr had also assured him that the priests would enjoy normal working conditions — 1 notably as concerns problems with their work permits — and would be able to continue teaching at the Christian school. — Teheran.
