Electric-vehicle firm to defend charges
An electric-vehicle company and its director will defend charges brought against them in the District Court relating to the alleged publication of a prospectus for the company. The defendants are Natural Energy (Electric Vehicles), Ltd, of Christchurch and Clement Pryce Hibbott The company is charged that on or about April 25, it issued to a person a form of application for shares, without a prospectus; and that it published an advertisement (a circular) which was
deemed to be a.. prospectus and which did not. comply with the Companies Act as to prospectuses. Hibbott has been charged with two similar counts, in that he was the company’s director. The charges have been, brought under provisions of the Companies Act. Mr W. E. Herbison appeared for the two defendants. Judge Bisphan yesterday granted a second adjournment of the charges to September 10, for a defended fixture.
