Snatcher untraced
The police have found no trace of a thief who snatched money from a lottery ticket seller in Armagh Street yesterday morning. The man walked up to. the lottery stand about 9.45 a.m., grabbed a canvas bag containing a small amount of cash, and sprinted away. Passers-by gave chase after the elderly ticket seller shouted for help, but the thief; who was
described by the police as “very fit,” ran through the Haywrights store and escaped. He dropped the canvas bag during the chase, however, and the money was recovered. . The police are looking for a male European, aged about 25, about 180 cm (6ft) tall, of solid build, with dark, straight/collarlength hair. He was wearing a blue ski jersey and dark blue trousers.
