London correspondent i A New Zealand businessman, Michael David, aged; 50, who was convicted of; theft last month, has been! given a six-month jail sen-! fence by a Judge at Snares-! brook Crown Court, East; London. The Deputy Circuit Judged Mr Micahel Beckman, had. adjourned the case for re-i ports on the Dunedin-born i David, who now lives -in] London.. I
I After reading David’s history and hearing that he had ibeen convicted by courts in : New Zealand, Australia, and : Paris, the Judge said: "The (papers shall be referred to (the authorities so that you |can be considered for depor- ; tation." ■ David had been found guilty of stealing a passport I which the police had found i hidden under a carpet when I they searched his London I home.
