Tasman flights watch
PA Auckland Air New Zealand will “watch with great interest” the weekly Tasman flights that two Australian domestic airlines are starting in November. A spokesman for Air New Zealand has said the company had been interested in the route, from Christ-
church to Hobart via Adelaide, for some years. “However, it has never been economically desirable, and so we have not started operations,” said the spokesman. Ansett and T.A.A. have been given approval to run the service but the fares have yet to be approved by the New Zealand and Australian governments.
